Starting from December 1, 2022, the "National IV" standard for non-roa

Starting from December 1, 2022, the "National IV" standard for non-road mobile machinery was officially implemented nationwide. The full implementation of the new emission standards will surely make a huge contribution to improving air quality and ensure the smooth achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.

In fact, as early as December 2021, big cities like Beijing had already taken the lead and implemented local high emission standards.

Based on its rich application experience in energy conservation and emission reduction in the European and American markets, Wirtgen Group responded positively and, with its profound technical reserves, pre-configured its large milling machine W 205i that meets the "National IV" standard for some customers in the Beijing area. Over the past year and more, it has been tested by practice and made its own contribution to energy conservation and emission reduction.

In addition to meeting stricter emission standards, when conducting pavement milling and maintenance operations on municipal roads in big cities, customers also have very high expectations for the working efficiency of the equipment.

In the dead of night, all the cars and buses on the busy streets during the day have vanished, and people who have worked hard all day have fallen asleep. However, there is a group of workers who are still busy. Their task is to complete the milling and maintenance of the road surface within just a few hours when the traffic volume at night is extremely low.

When the first light of dawn breaks and the city awakens, they quietly withdraw, restoring smooth roads to the bustling metropolis. The Wirtgen W 205i is highly efficient and reliable, and it is easy to use. It is their most capable assistant. Milling depth: 10 cm

Equipment used: W 205i

Highlight: Within 4 hours, the milling and recovery of nearly a thousand tons of asphalt was completed as scheduled, ensuring that the subsequent paving process could be smoothly completed within the extremely short construction window that night. Good construction organization and efficient milling operations have minimized the impact on traffic.

In the busy urban road construction, there is only a very short construction window period of six hours at night. However, in the rapid road maintenance, each construction link of the milling, spreading and compaction process is closely linked. If there is a problem in the first step of milling, it will affect the entire construction progress and may even lead to the planned warm-mixed asphalt material not being laid within the appropriate temperature window. This in turn brings about serious economic losses.

Therefore, in addition to meeting the basic requirements for construction equipment access with low emissions, as the main equipment of the first process, the milling machine itself must also have the characteristics of high reliability, high performance and high output, and be able to complete the milling volume with quality and quantity guaranteed, so as to leave sufficient time for the paver to successfully complete the planned volume of hot asphalt material paving task.

One of the secrets behind the Wirtgen W 205i, which meets the National IV emission standards, being able to easily meet these requirements is that it is equipped with a powerful and stable central control system that intelligently integrates six innovative functions, ensuring that the W 205i has extremely high construction efficiency.

Wirtgen intelligent control System WIDRIVE

1. Intelligent load control of the engine

By sensing the changes in load during operation in real time through sensors, WIDRIVE controls the distribution of engine power output as needed. The distribution of the engine output power to each working system of the milling machine is automatically adjusted without the intervention of the operator.

First, ensure the power requirements for milling and cutting as well as material conveying, and adjust the traveling speed to adapt to the changes in load. In this way, 100% of the engine's output power can be utilized. Under different load conditions, the maximum milling output can always be achieved.

02 Intelligent cutting control

When cutting, the cutting speed is automatically controlled to ensure smooth cutting, reduce the impact on each component of the milling machine, and guarantee the stable operation and high reliability of the machine.

03 Intelligent depth control

Wirtgen's automatic leveling system and the overall machine control system are integrated into one. The intelligent outrigger height control ADAPTS to the undulating changes of the road surface and responds efficiently to the signals of the leveling system, enabling the milling machine to achieve high-precision automatic leveling even during high-speed milling.

04 Intelligent walking control

The ISC intelligent walking control, through the speed sensors on the four tracks and the displacement sensors on the intelligent steering cylinder, senses the walking status and steering Angle of the tracks in real time, automatically adjusts the speed difference among the four tracks, ensuring that the driving of the four tracks is always coordinated, improving the driving efficiency and reducing the wear of the track plates.

When the adhesion of the road surface decreases, the ASC automatic anti-skid system works. Unlike traditional hydraulic differential locks, the ASC automatic anti-slip system automatically adjusts the motor oil volume according to the changes in adhesion force, fully utilizing the driving force of all four tracks, thereby better adapting to various road conditions and maximizing milling output.

05 Intelligent Management of Engines

The intelligent engine management system has realized automatic throttle control in milling operations. While ensuring engine output, it has greatly improved the fuel economy of the equipment, making a considerable contribution to energy conservation and emission reduction.

06 Intelligent sprinkler control

According to the milling volume, milling speed and the operator's Settings, the water spraying volume and the spraying switch are automatically controlled, thereby saving the spraying volume during the milling operation to the greatest extent.

This not only extends the working time of the milling machine, reduces the frequency of water addition, and improves the operation efficiency, but also the less water sprayed reduces the moisture content of the milled recycled material, decreases the fuel consumption during material recycling, lowers the carbon footprint, and adds another contribution to energy conservation and emission reduction.
