At the end of 2022, Hummer upgraded 10 models of its small roller series. All models are equipped with Kubota engines and meet the National IV emission standards. In addition, the front honeycomb-shaped structure gives the roller an excellent field of vision. The three-point hinge mechanism also ensures excellent driving stability and handling comfort.

For a wide range of asphalt construction projects as well as horticulture and landscape engineering, Hummer offers a rich selection of optional accessories, and users can all find suitable equipment to meet their needs.

These 10 brand-new models are targeted at the Chinese market (HD 18 VV, HD 20 VV, HD 30 VV, HD 30 VT, HD 35 VV, HD 35 VT, HD 35 VO, HD 50 VV, HD 50 VT and HD 50 VO: It weighs from 1.8t to 5t, complies with China's new fourth-stage emission standards, and is manufactured by Wirtgen's factory in Langfang, China.

The width of the steel wheels ranges from 0.8m to 1.38m, specially customized to meet the local market demands. In terms of compaction technology, there are models equipped with two vibrating steel wheels (VV), one vibrating wheel and one oscillating wheel (VO), and one vibrating steel wheel and a set of tires (VT).

The honeycomb-shaped design offers an excellent view

The engine hood is ingeniously designed to ensure a clear view of the front of the machine. Moreover, thanks to the typical waist-shaped structure design of Hummer, the operator can have a clear view of both the steel wheels and the surrounding construction environment.

Uniform weight distribution

The three-point hinge mechanism is a key factor in achieving high-quality compaction results. It not only ensures an even weight distribution between the front and rear axles of the machine, but also endows the machine with a smaller turning radius and a high degree of driving comfort. Thanks to the articulated mechanism and a lower center of gravity, the HD series of small rollers can avoid the risk of tilting even in narrow areas.

Large-diameter steel wheels achieve high-pressure power

The HD series of small road rollers feature high static line pressure and large excitation force, thus possessing strong compaction performance. Large-diameter steel wheels can also effectively prevent the formation of road surface lumps or wrinkles, thereby ensuring excellent compaction quality. When compaction work is carried out in close contact with curb stones or walls, the HD series of small rollers can handle it with ease.

For instance, the HD 18 and HD 20 models can achieve standard offset wheel widters of 72mm and 70mm respectively, and adopt a single-sided steel wheel suspension structure. Both side components are arranged within the working width range, making it easy to achieve zero-gap edge compaction on both sides. Therefore, edge compaction along walls or other obstacles is not a problem.

In addition, both of these two machines are available as an optional feature without a misalignment wheel design. The steel wheels from HD 30 to HD 50 can achieve a maximum misalignment of 50 mm. All models are equipped with folding scrapers as standard.

A reliable sprinkler system

The sprinkler system is specially designed to achieve high-quality compaction and high construction efficiency. The water sprinkling systems of the HD series of small road rollers all adopt a three-stage filtration design, including a self-cleaning water filter element, a filling port filter element, and a front filter element of the water sprinkling system. Therefore, the nozzles and spray rods can be used conveniently at any time. During the compaction process, the operator can control the amount of water sprayed on the instrument panel. When necessary, the amount of water sprayed can also be increased by using the foot switch.

The overall operation of the machine is simple and intuitive

All control components are clearly marked with explicit symbols, making their functions immediately understandable. All important construction information is displayed on the screen without any text display. Therefore, even beginners can immediately and clearly know how to operate the roller to ensure the overall construction safety.

The HD series of small road rollers, HD 18, HD 20, HD 30 and HD 35, can be easily loaded through the lifting point in the center of the handrail. Even small transport vehicles can easily achieve loading. The transportation process of the entire machine is both time-saving and convenient. The Hummer roller is not only easy to operate but also highly efficient in maintenance and upkeep.

For instance, the central drain is located at the lowest point of the machine, and it only requires simple manual operation to completely empty the water tank from behind the roller. In addition, the self-cleaning water filter element can be inspected within seconds. All maintenance and servicing points are concentrated on one side of the machine. The large-opening engine hood makes it convenient for the operator to conduct inspections, and other daily inspection tasks can be easily completed without any tools.
