Maintenance
How to safely use small loaders in high-temperature environments during summer
In summer, due to the influence of environmental temperature, it brings many difficulties to the use of small loaders. For instance, the "heart" component of the entire machine, the diesel engine, as the temperature rises, the viscosity of the lubricating oil decreases, the lubrication reduces, and the power also drops. The internal components are often prone to wear and tear, which is a relatively common fault. Therefore, as summer approaches, when maintaining small loaders, it is even more important to carefully carry out necessary and comprehensive summer maintenance on diesel engines. This is of great significance for the safe operation of small loaders in high-temperature summer environments and for extending the service life of the entire machine.
Summer high-temperature safety protection technology
To ensure the good performance of the cooling system of small complete machines, before entering summer, all components of the cooling system should be thoroughly cleaned, tightened and lubricated. As much as possible, the scale in the cooling system (including the scale in the radiator) should be removed to improve the heat dissipation efficiency, keep the cooling system unobstructed and accelerate the circulation of cooling water.
(2) Check the drive belt between the water pump and the fan. After long-term use, the belt will become fatigued and deformed, reducing the cooling effect. When replacing the belt, pay attention to the model and length, and adjust its tightness correctly.
(3) Check the rubber hose connecting the radiator. The rubber hose of the radiator has relatively poor oil resistance and is prone to premature damage, which will affect the water supply and cause the engine temperature to rise too high. If there is any cracking or leakage, it should be eliminated in time. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain an adequate supply of cooling water. If any shortage is found, it should be replenished in a timely manner.
(4) To ensure the correct operation of the entire machine, always pay attention to the reading of the water temperature gauge. When it reaches above 90 degrees, measures must be taken. You can choose a nearby shady spot to park and let the engine idle to cool down. Be careful not to turn off the engine immediately to prevent overheating inside the engine and causing accidents such as cylinder pulling. After the temperature drops, the tension of the fan belt should also be checked.
(5) Before entering summer, it is necessary to conduct a targeted one-time performance test on each component of the lubrication system to ensure that the oil pressure gauge and transmission pressure gauge indicate accurately. Conduct a systematic inspection of the oil in the transmission, torque converter and drive axle, from the quality to the quantity of the oil, and keep the oil clean.
(6) During summer driving, the number of tire layers of small loaders is mostly around 14. Compared with large tires, they conduct heat more quickly and are prone to overheating, which increases the internal pressure and reduces the physical properties of the rubber in the tires, eventually leading to a blowout. If you find that the tire pressure or temperature is too high, you should park the car in a shady place to cool it down before continuing to drive. It is strictly forbidden to lower the tire pressure by deflating or pour cold water on a hot tire.
(7) Regularly check the braking performance of the entire machine to detect and eliminate faults in the braking system as early as possible and reduce the risk of accidents. Long-term operation and use of the brake can cause the temperature of the brake hub and brake pads to be too high, resulting in a decline in braking performance. The machine should be stopped immediately to cool down to avoid potential safety hazards to the overall operation of the machine. However, it is strictly forbidden to forcibly cool down the brake by pouring cold water on it.
(8) Ensure the height of the electrolyte level in the battery; In summer, the temperature is high, the evaporation is large, and the liquid level drops rapidly. It is necessary to replenish the distilled water or electrolyte in time as needed (pay attention to its purity) to keep the liquid level 10 to 15mm above the top of the plates to avoid plate oxidation. The dirt on the surface of the battery, as well as the oxide on the terminal posts and wire joints, should be cleaned in time. The vent holes should be kept unobstructed and clean, and the battery should be fixed firmly. Timely eliminate battery faults and ensure regular inspection and maintenance.
(9) In summer, the driver of the entire machine is prone to fatigue after driving for a long time. When the driver feels tired, they should stop the machine in time and take a proper rest. They must not force themselves to be overly fatigued and drive excessively. To ensure adequate sleep and good energy and physical strength, one's work efficiency will be relatively high.
(10) If the entire machine encounters a situation of wading through water, and water enters the disc actuator after wading through water, it should be driven at a low speed to utilize the heat generated by the friction between the shoe pads and the brake hub to dry the shoe pads, so as to prevent the braking from being ineffective.
(11) The lubrication of the transmission system and the wear of the transmission mechanism of the entire machine under high-temperature conditions largely depend on the quality of the lubricating oil used. Long-term tests have proved that using lubricating oil with a higher viscosity can reduce the wear of the transmission system. Use lubricating oil with a high dropping point. Particular attention should be paid to preventing water and air from entering the hydraulic system, as this may cause changes in the system, leading to wear and corrosion.
In summer, the weather is hot. On the one hand, drivers consume a lot of physical energy and are prone to fatigue. On the other hand, the entire machine is also prone to malfunction due to high temperatures. Therefore, both need to be adjusted in time to reach their best conditions and safely get through the summer.
