1. Scientific maintenance concepts.

The maintenance ideology reveals the essence and inherent laws of maintenance, guides the development of maintenance, and represents the direction of maintenance. It is the basis for the emergence of all maintenance mode systems. We integrate several major popular maintenance ideas and, in light of the actual situation of the maintenance and use of pavers, adopt a comprehensive maintenance and inspection concept that includes regular (mandatory) maintenance, condition-based repair, and major overhaul (refurbishment).

Regular (mandatory) maintenance absorbs the advantages of regular repair, which are planned and prepared. However, it only involves routine maintenance per shift and 200-hour or 600-hour maintenance, avoiding the disadvantages of increased maintenance time due to a large number of unnecessary and excessive disassemblies, inspections and repairs in regular maintenance, as well as the increase in additional material costs and even the reduction of the inherent reliability of the equipment.

Reliance-centered condition-based maintenance, through the analysis of various factors affecting the reliability of the equipment itself, scientifically determines the maintenance items, optimizes the maintenance methods, and sets a reasonable maintenance cycle. Only necessary maintenance work is carried out to restore the reliability and accuracy of the paver, while also saving maintenance time and costs.

Major overhaul (refurbishment) is the most comprehensive and thorough repair carried out on the paver to restore its original function and design accuracy on the basis of regular (mandatory) maintenance and condition-based repair. In actual maintenance, due to reasons such as financial capacity and the standard definition of the scope of major overhauls, there are few cases where the maintenance of pavers truly achieves major overhauls. It's just that the degree of maintenance varies depending on the situation.

In the actual use and maintenance of pavers, we find that the understanding of maintenance ideas among the vast majority of paver users and individuals varies greatly. Specifically, the recognition of the scope of maintenance, the maintenance effect, and the service work of maintenance personnel also varies.

It should be admitted that the design and production of pavers in our country have started to make progress in recent years. However, compared with the established Western developed countries, our overall maintenance theory, maintenance methods and maintenance level are still very backward. Based on our experience, the overall quality level of the same brand of paver after being used normally in Europe for seven or eight years is no less than that of the equipment that has just been in use in China for three years. It is true that apart from the differences in construction standards, construction characteristics and mandatory measures for the maintenance level of pavers in various countries, the most important reason is the significant disparity in the maintenance and management levels of users. We believe that the key to improving maintenance (repair) levels lies in establishing a scientific maintenance mindset.

2. Reasonable and diverse maintenance means (methods)

For condition-based repair work, it is required that the maintenance unit has reliable technical support and means, as well as human resources with rich maintenance experience and technical data management conditions, etc. Otherwise, it will be impossible to monitor the data of the paver and conduct disassembly diagnosis. For several key links in the maintenance of pavers, such as the hydraulic system, engine, electrical system and all the inspection and maintenance work of gearboxes, we have successively equipped hydraulic testers. Maintenance procedures cover power systems, material conveying and distribution systems, traveling systems, chassis (four wheels and one belt), full vehicle electrical systems, full vehicle hydraulics to full vehicle appearance, leveling systems, leveling systems, etc. It can be said that there are countless aspects. The maintenance of pavers must be carried out in accordance with laws and regulations, with clear evidence to follow. The process flow for maintaining pavers is of great significance. The establishment of the maintenance process flow can define the scope of division of labor and responsibilities, highlighting key points - the main responsibility system, and clearly define rewards and punishments.

Secondly, the user units should strictly manage the machinery, enforce regular maintenance on the pavers, and keep detailed and accurate machinery records. Finally, the maintenance work of the paver should be carried out by a professional maintenance unit with strong technical strength, good after-sales service capabilities, and a complete management and quality control system.
