Discussion on Conveyor Belts and Their Simple Connection Methods
Many power transmissions and material conveyors in engineering construction machinery adopt friction belt drives. It features a simple structure, smooth transmission and low noise, the ability to buffer vibration, easy maintenance, no need for lubrication, low cost, long-distance transmission capability, and overload protection.
According to different uses, conveyor belts are classified into industrial conveyor belts, agricultural machinery conveyor belts and vehicle conveyor belts. Friction conveyor belts are classified into flat belts, V-belts, multi-ribbed belts and round belts based on their cross-sectional shapes. The project is now under construction
The characteristics and applications of the commonly used flat belt conveyor belts in machinery are listed in the following table. During the process of highway construction, it is often encountered that the conveyor belt cracks, and the machinery cannot continue the construction. In the past, the common practice was to have the manufacturer come to the site for maintenance (connection), but it was time-consuming and costly. Or, riveting with rivets and bonding with glue was used, which was convenient and fast, but neither was reliable. We have conducted research on the hot pressing bonding method of raw glue and found it very successful after experiments. This method mainly relies on making a belt connection heater to achieve.

There are usually two types: thin raw rubber sheets or raw rubber liquid that has been soaked.
The operation method is as follows: Evenly apply the raw glue to the bonding area, place it in the gap of the heating plate, press it tightly under a certain pressure, and then control the heating temperature at around 140℃ through the temperature controller. Set the time for about 2 hours, and add a little pressure during the initial stage when the glue melts. Add more at the joint and the adjacent positions
The adhesive is formed by dispensing and pressing, and the excess parts are cut off to make the connection smooth. The bond formed in this way is safe and reliable, and can meet the usage requirements.
With this method, even if the conveyor belt breaks or the glue comes off, we can make it as firm as new, greatly extending its service life, reducing the usage cost, and improving the productivity of highway construction machinery by shortening the maintenance time of the conveyor belt.
