Volvo Trucks showcased its pure electric solution at the Bauma Exhibition in Germany, contributing to a zero-carbon future for construction transportation
Recently, the 2025 Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany, came to a successful conclusion. Volvo Trucks, in collaboration with Putzmeister, launched the world's first 42-meter boom all-electric concrete pump truck and delivered the model to customer Swerock. This innovative achievement marks that Volvo Trucks can provide electric concrete pumping solutions for customers in the construction industry.
Volvo's world's first 42-meter boom pure electric concrete pump truck
As a leading enterprise in the global pure electric truck market, Volvo Trucks has been mass-producing electric trucks since 2019. In Europe, the sales share of pure electric trucks is as high as 50%, and it holds a dominant position in the North American market. By the beginning of 2025, it has cumulatively delivered over 4,900 electric trucks worldwide, continuously leading the low-carbon transformation of construction transportation.
The innovative all-electric pump truck made a stunning debut
At this year's Bauma, Volvo Trucks, in collaboration with Putzmeister, showcased one of the world's largest battery-electric concrete boom pump trucks. This zero-emission all-electric pump truck has a boom length of up to 42 meters and will be delivered to the Swedish construction company Swerock. It can travel 50 kilometers on a single charge and pump about 50 cubic meters of concrete without the need for mid-journey recharging. When the transportation distance exceeds 50 kilometers or the demand for concrete is greater, the combined charging system (CCS) equipped on site can achieve charging and pumping operations simultaneously, ensuring the continuity of construction.
Christoph Fitz, the sales director of Volvo Trucks in Germany, said: "In the field of technological innovation in electric trucks, Volvo has always been an industry leader." The electric pump truck jointly displayed with Putzmeister this time is the best example of promoting industry progress through collaborative win-win cooperation. Through this electric pump truck, customers can obtain a zero-exhaust emission solution, a low-noise operation process, and achieve efficient construction with the parallel charging operation function.
Pure electric solutions contribute to the zero-carbon goal
The innovative all-electric pump truck on display this time marks that Volvo Trucks can provide electric concrete pumping solutions for customers in the construction industry. This not only meets the demands of construction industry customers for zero-emission equipment, but also demonstrates Volvo Trucks' firm determination to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.
In the future, Volvo Trucks will continue to lead the construction and transportation industry towards a green and low-carbon direction with efficient and environmentally friendly power solutions, and contribute to the healthy and sustainable development of the industry.
