Chen Lin, President of Volvo Construction Equipment China, said, "The Chinese construction machinery industry has entered a critical period of transitioning from 'National III' to 'National IV' emission standards." With the newly launched Volvo EC400 excavator as the lead, Volvo Construction Equipment's new series of products that meet the "National IV" emission standards are ready to go and will be successively launched and delivered to Chinese customers. With higher fuel efficiency and lower fuel consumption levels, they will contribute to the green transformation of China's infrastructure industry.

Outstanding quality, striving for excellence

The newly released model is equipped with a Volvo engine that meets the "National IV" emission standards. Since its prototype was born in 2014, it has been widely praised and has strongly guaranteed the operation efficiency and productivity of users. The engine is equipped with functions such as automatic idle, automatic shutdown and automatic restart, which can avoid unnecessary fuel consumption and wear. Meanwhile, the intelligent delayed shutdown function can shut down the engine only when the turbocharger cools to a specific temperature, thereby extending the service life of related components.

The all-new Volvo EC400 excavator is even better than its predecessor, with fuel efficiency increased by approximately 5% and productivity by about 16% compared to the previous generation. Inheriting Volvo Construction Equipment's consistent commitment to product reliability and its unremitting pursuit of a comfortable driving environment, the all-new Volvo EC400 excavator has emerged. With its meticulous and outstanding quality, it lives up to every trust from its users.

Enjoy comfort and ensure high productivity

The all-new Volvo EC400 excavator is equipped with a Volvo Care cab, featuring low noise, low vibration and a wide field of vision. The interior layout of the driver's cabin is reasonable and convenient. The seats with heating function and the ergonomic controller provide the operator with an excellent driving experience, ensuring long-lasting high productivity. The equipment is equipped with an air spray gun, which can ensure the cleanliness of the cab environment even when working in a high-dust environment.

To fully exploit the potential of the equipment, the Volvo EC400 excavator is equipped with a 10-inch Co-Pilot excavator assistance system display and Dig Assist auxiliary excavation system. In addition, the operator can optimize the excavation operation process through intelligent applications such as 2D, 3D, In Field Design and On-Board Weighing.

Fuel-saving, environmentally friendly, green and highly efficient

The all-new Volvo EC400 excavator features the highly praised ECO fuel-saving mode, a new generation of intelligent electronically controlled hydraulic system, as well as automatic engine idle and automatic engine shutdown functions, providing users with higher fuel efficiency. Among them, the new generation of intelligent electronic control hydraulic system can provide flow as needed and reduce internal losses in the hydraulic circuit.

When performing high-intensity operations, the hydraulic-driven electronically controlled cooling fan will automatically start to cool down the important components, ensuring the sustained output of powerful performance. When the operating load is low, the fan will not start to reduce noise and fuel consumption. It is worth mentioning that the fan also has a reverse function, which can blow air in the opposite direction to achieve self-cleaning.

For different operating conditions, the operator can select the most suitable operation mode for the current condition from the following modes: I (idle), F (fine), G (normal), H (heavy), and P (maximum power). The equipment will automatically determine the engine speed based on the throttle status, ensuring efficient operation of the equipment while achieving more optimized fuel efficiency.

As part of Volvo Construction Equipment's customer service, the all-new Volvo EC400 excavator can display fuel consumption in real time on its screen, allowing customers and operators to accurately predict the fuel consumption of individual equipment, fleets and operation sites based on the fuel efficiency report, providing fuel-saving suggestions, improving fuel efficiency and reducing operating costs.
