The dream of digging big

Large-tonnage excavators are hailed as the "crown jewels". In this crucial battlefield where domestic and foreign brands are in direct confrontation, the market for large-scale mining and other large excavators was once monopolized by foreign brands, and domestic brands of excavators had almost no entry qualification.

The exploration journey of Liugong's large excavators began with the 936LC excavator of the C series. Its outstanding performance has changed the stereotype among domestic users that domestic large excavators are of poor quality and prone to damage.

However, at that time, large-scale mines were basically all imported large excavators. It was not until 2013 that the largest-tonnage CLG970E mining excavator of the Liugong E series emerged. The CLG950E, which was launched at the same time, has set a record of zero failure for 5,000 hours of operation.

With the continuous improvement of its hard power, Liugong's large excavators have begun to strongly replace foreign brands and enter the vision of large-scale mining customers, triggering a wave of domestic excavators replacing imported equipment. Liugong has also been competing globally and operating in overseas mining farms.

In 2018, the first prototype of the F series, the first double-boom complete machine 915FCR, the smallest tonnage excavator 9018F that filled the gap, and the largest tonnage 990F prototype were launched, officially opening a new chapter for the sixth-generation F series excavators. However, Liugong did not stop there. On September 3, 2022, the 9125F super-large excavator, which set a new record for Liugong's largest tonnage, made its debut at the Liugong National IV New Product Appreciation event.

If the 936LC was the key to changing users' impression of domestic large excavators, then the HD heavy-duty series launched in 2020 completely transformed users' stereotypical and long-standing prejudice against domestic large excavators. Among them, the Liugong CLG965EHD has become the sales champion of 60-ton excavators, opening a brand-new chapter for Liugong's large excavators.

In November 2021, Liugong's 956EHD and 926EHD excavators set off for the polar regions and became the main force in the Antarctic scientific research team, marking an important achievement of Liugong equipment's continuous support for the country's polar scientific research endeavors over the past ten years.

In 2022, the multi-functional modifications of Liugong's large and super-large excavators were carried out everywhere, including ship excavators, rock arms, building demolition machines, and pile drivers, unfolding a new blue ocean picture.

From struggling to survive in a narrow space to now occupying the majority of the market, over the past three decades, Liugong excavators have been firmly engaged in the development of large-tonnage excavators, achieving an expansion of the product range of each family and a comprehensive improvement in the overall performance of the products.
