Maintenance
Winter is here, and it's very important to conduct regular inspections of bulldozers!
Although the manufacturing industry of medium and large-sized crawler bulldozers in our country has achieved considerable development, the demand is constantly increasing. However, the processing requirements for bulldozers are high and the difficulty is great. Once an unexpected malfunction occurs during the outdoor use of a bulldozer, the loss will be huge. So, what aspects should we pay attention to when it comes to the daily inspection and maintenance of bulldozers?
Before starting the engine, check around and under the machine to see if there are any loose nuts or bolts, oil, fuel or coolant leaks, and inspect the condition of the working device and hydraulic system. Also, check for loose wires, clearance and dust accumulation at high-temperature areas. Check the working device, cylinder, connecting rod and hose for cracks, excessive wear or clearance. If any abnormality is found, it should be repaired. Check if there is any accumulation of dirt or dust around the engine or radiator. Check if there is any accumulation of flammable materials (dry leaves, branches, weeds, etc.) around the battery or high-temperature engine parts (such as the engine muffler or turbocharger). Remove these dirt and flammable materials.
Check whether the joints of high-pressure pipes, oil cylinders, floating oil seals, radiator fins, water pipe joints, etc. are leaking. If so, they should be eliminated in time. Check if there are any broken wires, short wires or loose terminals in the electrical system. If so, they should be eliminated in time. Check the oil level in the engine oil pan: When the engine is off, first determine whether the engine oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge are within the normal range. Then remove the dipstick to check the liquid level, which should be between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick. If engine oil needs to be added, open the oil filling port and add it. When checking the oil level, the vehicle should be parked on a level ground. When adding engine oil, the oil level should not exceed the "H" mark.
The adjustment of the track tension is achieved by adding grease to the oil injector of the tensioning cylinder or discharging grease from the oil drain, and then making the adjustment in accordance with the standard clearance of each model. When the pitch of the track link is stretched to the point where a set of track links needs to be removed, the meshing surface between the drive wheel tooth surface and the pin sleeve will also be abnormally worn. At this time, appropriate treatment should be carried out before the meshing condition deteriorates, such as turning the pin and pin sleeve over, replacing the excessively worn pin and pin sleeve, and replacing the track link assembly, etc.
The lubrication of the traveling mechanism is of great significance. Many idler wheel bearings "burn out" and are overcharged because oil leakage is not detected in time. It is generally believed that the following five points may cause oil leakage: Due to the poor or damaged O-ring between the retaining ring and the shaft, oil leakage occurs from the outside of the retaining ring and the shaft. Due to poor contact of the floating seal ring or defects in the O-ring, oil leakage occurs between the outer side of the retaining ring and the supporting wheels (idler wheels, guide wheels, drive wheels). Due to the poor O-ring condition between the support wheel (idler wheel, guide wheel, drive wheel) and the bushing, oil leakage occurs between the bushing and the roller. Oil leakage occurs at the filling plug due to loose filling port plugs or damaged seat holes sealed by conical plugs. Due to the poor quality of the O-ring, oil leakage occurs between the cover and the roller. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to checking the above-mentioned parts in daily life and add or replace them regularly according to the lubrication cycle of each part.
