YYDS! Yuchai successfully delivered and inspected the low-speed dual-fuel engine of a 20,000-ton chemical tanker

On August 3rd, Yuchai Chuangxiang, a subsidiary of Yuchai Group, successfully delivered and inspected a 5RT-flex50DF low-speed and low-pressure dual-fuel engine to Nantong Xiangyu Marine Equipment Co., LTD. This aircraft has been classified by Lloyd's Register (LR) of the United Kingdom and will be installed on a nearly 20,000-ton chemical tanker undertaken by Nantong Xiangyu. The shipowner is Nisshin Shipping of Japan. The six chemical tankers ordered by the shipowner in Xiangyu, Nantong, all have low-speed and low-pressure dual-fuel engines manufactured by Yuchai Marine Engine.

Representatives from the shipyard, shipowner and classification society were present at the scene for this handover and inspection. Through meticulous preparation, Yuchai Marine Engine, relying on its rich experience in manufacturing dual-fuel engines, successfully completed this handover inspection. All test items passed at the first attempt, and all index parameters met the design requirements. The representatives participating in the handover inspection highly praised the product quality and "appearance level" of Yuchai Marine Engine's dual-fuel engines.

The YCMP-WinGD DF low-speed and low-pressure dual-fuel engine has a rated power of 6000kW. It can operate stably in gas mode throughout the entire load range. The fuel and gas modes can be switched smoothly directly. In the gas mode based on the lean-burn principle (Otto cycle), sulfur oxides and particulate matter are almost zero. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III emission standards can be met without any post-treatment measures. At the same time, this type of main engine also adopts a low-pressure gas supply system with a pressure not exceeding 16 bar. While meeting the emission regulations, it is conducive to the safe and stable operation of the vessel.
