Maintenance
Detection and use of old construction machinery to delay the aging of equipment
There have been successful experiences in equipment refurbishment abroad
According to the data, the refurbishment of complete machines and components abroad has a history of about 20 years. In China, due to the constraints of factors such as market share, market system, and users' purchasing habits, the refurbishment of construction machinery has not yet received sufficient attention.
IT was not until recent years, with the development of IT product and medical device refurbishment business, that it gradually attracted the attention of the domestic construction machinery industry. Subsequently, the construction machinery refurbishment business began to stir, and the refurbishment scope expanded from tire refurbishment and engine refurbishment to complete machine refurbishment. As a result, a number of equipment refurbishment manufacturers emerged one after another.
Compared with China, the construction machinery manufacturing industry in Europe, America, Japan and other countries and regions started earlier, and the market maturity is higher. Within the same design life cycle, the time point when equipment enters the second-hand market circulation is earlier than that in China, and the formation of the second-hand market is naturally earlier than that in China. Many second-hand equipment trading enterprises have absorbed sufficient nourishment through long-term market tempering and have a high degree of market sensitivity. They gradually discovered that many small and medium-sized engineering contractors, who were unable to purchase brand-new equipment due to a lack of funds but still wanted to obtain high-quality construction, often had reservations about the efficiency and safety of second-hand equipment when they turned to buying it. This requires the market to be able to provide a second-hand device that is "similar" in quality to a new one but much cheaper, in order to help them effectively complete the equipment configuration. On the other hand, manufacturers have also found that due to usage and time constraints, general maintenance services for many users' devices can no longer meet the basic performance restoration needs of the equipment. In this case, equipment refurbishment has begun to emerge as a new method for restoring equipment performance.
As an effective method for restoring the performance of second-hand equipment, equipment refurbishment has become an international practice. Countries such as Australia, Japan and Indonesia all have construction machinery refurbishment plants. The scope of equipment refurbishment has also shifted from assemblies such as engines and hydraulic pumps to the refurbishment of complete machines. With the continuous rise in global raw material prices, energy conservation has become a responsibility for the whole world. Meanwhile, the design service life of construction machinery is gradually increasing under the influence of factors such as process. The equipment has already taken its second life into account in the design, and refurbishment is precisely the best way to restore its second life.
Equipment refurbishment has transformed the traditional logistics process of "research and development - use - scrapping" throughout the entire life cycle of construction machinery into "research and development - use - regeneration". Keep the equipment in a high-efficiency operating state for a long time through renovation. Entering the 21st century, energy shortage and environmental pollution have become worldwide problems, and the entire equipment manufacturing industry is confronted with the issue of energy conservation. The development of equipment refurbishment, on the one hand, extends the service life of equipment and improves its average operational efficiency through reorganization; on the other hand, it also resolves the issue of old equipment being in a state of high emissions and high pollution for a long time.
Equipment refurbishment offers users more benefits
Experts believe that if the new machine market is called the first market, then refurbished equipment is precisely in the second market. Compared with second-hand equipment that has undergone major overhauls in the traditional sense, refurbished equipment can basically meet or even exceed the standards of new machines (original factory equipment) in terms of mechanical performance. Its construction efficiency and safety performance are no less than those of new machines, and its price is far lower than that of new machines. The survey results of manufacturers engaged in refurbishment business show that the actual price of refurbished equipment is between 50% and 70% of the price of new machines, while the price for users to send their own equipment to the manufacturer for refurbishment is only about 30% of the price of new machines.
Refurbished second-hand equipment has unique advantages in terms of price and performance in the market and is naturally favored by users in the second-hand market. From the perspective of the market flow of refurbished equipment, after undergoing strict inspection and leaving the factory, refurbished equipment mainly targets several types of users, namely original equipment users, small and medium-sized second-hand equipment users, and leasing companies, etc. In addition, a large number of refurbished devices have also entered the international market. Tianjin West's current business not only includes providing refurbishment services for its major domestic users such as Antaibao Coal Mine, but also conducts the refurbishment and trading of second-hand equipment worldwide. In 2004, due to the impact of national macro-control, the sales of the entire construction machinery industry declined. It was in this year that Nanjing Gangjia Construction Machinery Group Company invested 35 million yuan to launch a major renovation and refurbishment factory, achieving an output value of 11 million yuan in the same year. It is evident how great the market potential is.
According to Xie Bangrong, the chairman of Gangjia Group, refurbishing a complete Komatsu WY600 vehicle only requires an investment of 1 million yuan, while the market price of a WY600 is 5 million yuan. Its market allure can be imagined. Experts believe that obtaining high performance and high reliability at low prices is a major foundation for the existence of the refurbishment business. Besides the refurbishment of users' own equipment, the focus of second-hand equipment users when purchasing refurbished equipment still lies in the high cost performance of the equipment. When enterprises purchase second-hand equipment, apart from the price factor, work efficiency, reliability and after-sales service are also very important aspects that they consider the most. Due to its reliable technical performance, refurbished equipment has the potential of a new machine. Currently, most refurbished manufacturers offer a warranty period of about one year for the refurbished equipment they sell. The supply of spare parts and maintenance services also follow the same standards as those for new models, which greatly facilitates users.
